My friends and I enjoyed our time at this home. The communication was great and the staff was attentive to our needs. The house could use a few upgrades. We couldn't get one air conditioner to work. Also, the stairs are very narrow so all should be able to climb.
muy buena locacion serca de malecon y de todo en el centro
We stayed in this spacious hillside house for about four months this winter. The photos on the website accurately portray the home. The listing is accurate and describes the property well. There are new windows all with screens throughout and, between the windows and the overhead fans, we didn't need to use the air conditioning at all but it was nice to know that it was there if we did need it. The rooftop was our favourite part of the house. Very few places in Mazatlan offer the panoramic views or Olas Altas, the Malecon and el Faro that you get from this site. Having a purified water system was a big bonus. All the water from all the taps throughout the house is potable - something we take for granted north of the border but a real plus in Mexico. The kitchen is well equipped and functional. With two full-sized fridges there is no reason to run out of beer! There are plenty of great restaurants within easy walking distance. Proximity to all the entertainment on Olas Altas is a bit of a double-edged sword. It is great to have such easy access to the night life and eating establishments but that means the property gets its share of noise from those same establishments. Some nights it is necessary to close windows you might rather have open and put in earplugs - unless you ascribe to the "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em" adage. All in all, we would rent this property again in a heartbeat and, in fact, we will the next winter we decide to stay in Mazatlan. Gardeners help keep the back garden in great shape; and we have nothing but praise for the housekeeper.
My wife and I traveled to Mazatlan to spend new years eve/day and expecting a large family gathering, We had to fortune of renting the Mazatlan Olas Altas Treasure. The place has a magnificent top-view of the Olas Altas, the oldest and historical avenue which runs along the serene beach and is part of the historic center of Mazatlan -and all is just one block away from the rental. I was very fortunate to be able to host my family at this place, and also very lucky to have Lionne and Kristen as the managers of the property. They were caring and responsive; and Kristen, who arranged my pick up at the airport, send me fresh lemonade with the driver. Thank you Kristen. On New Years Day, unfortunately, a water pump which supplies the property malfunctioned, but Lionne responded (I felt bad for disrupting his celebration) despite being busy with his family and friends and had the problem solved so quickly, that we continue our own New Years celebration in happiness. Thanks Lionne. There are so many beautiful places within walking distance from the property: The famous bohemian and historical Plaza Machado, the art shops, more than one world-class restaurant (ask Lionne/Kristen where they had their 2013 New Years dinner), the market (founded in the 1800's), the must see sunsets from the top deck of the house. The public bus stops just down the street to take you (Sabalo/Centro) to the other beaches, downtown and market -for 0.85 US! To be able to find a place like this and to bring my family together, sleep together, to cook together and share a meal in the spacious kitchen, to walk to the Centro Historico, to experience incredible sunrises and sunsets from its balconies, and meet new people, to swim by Olas Altas, to rent a bicycle and move around the many streets; for me and my family, the true value of the place was and is -our memories and our increased sense of family unity. We will meet again Lionne and Kristen...and thank you. Jose and Elsie.
Spacious in a Convenient Location
What a great location, this place has to offer! Me and my family came and it was 9 of us, we all fit comfortably. My sister having two small children and having the laundry machines, large patio and kitchen available was a huge plus for her. I also had my dad and step mom with me who are in their 60's and they loved taking walks in the mornings to the beach "malecon" and taking a stroll to the little stores nearby. The beach was less than a block away. I also had 2 teens in the trip, accessible wi-fi and T.V. was beneficial to them. As for me the view was by far the best part breathtaking and beautiful with the sounds of the ocean, and nightlife from "Shrimp Bucket" also less than a block away. I definitely recommend this place for families 🙂
