Three Kings Day

In Mexico 3 Kings Day is celebrated on January 6th.  The Celebration around the arrival of 3 wise men with gifts for baby Jesus. The children in Mexico on 3 Kings Day receive gifts from 3 wise men.

Rosca de Reyes a sweet beard that is part of the 3 Kings Day Celebration.  This bread is filled with nuts, figs, cheeries, and colorfully decorated with pieces of orange and lime.  The fun thing about Rosca de Reyes is that there is a small doll baked inside the bread.  The baby in the bread is symbolic of how Jesus had been hidden from King Herod and his army.  So the one that finds the baby in the bread is responsible for hosting a Tomales party.
